Why is Getting the Right Dosage Important?
When considering a Glutathione protocol, getting the right product is just as important as getting the right dosage.
Glutathione can be used for its health benefits as well as its cosmetic benefits. The main differentiating factor between whether you achieve your desired result from Glutathione is whether or not you’re intaking a sufficient dosage of Glutathione.
Firstly, what are you using Glutathione for?
You should know by now (we hope so anyway!) that the primary purpose of Glutathione is to induce cellular detoxification: the regeneration and recycling of new and damaged cells. This occurs on an intra-cellular level, i.e. it happens within the cell itself. This is one of the key reasons why Glutathione is distinctly different
You should also know by now whether you are seeking the primary Health Benefits of Glutathione or
For General Health Benefits:
A dosage of either 500mg or 1000mg of Reduced Glutathione with an equal or accompanying dosage of Vitamin C will give the body the required amount of Glutathione to repair, and regenerate new cells. This is just a general dosage, and your healthcare practitioner may or may not recommend you a different dosage based on your individual bodily requirements.
For Skin Whitening Benefits:
Here is where it gets a little tricky. The amount of Glutathione that’s actually absorbed varies from person to person and is dependant on a range of factors including metabolism, weight, general health etc. To induce a skin whitening result a double or triple dosage of Glutathione is required as it’s the excess that creates the skin whitening result. The same is required for Vitamin C supplementation. You also need to factor in your skincare goals, and whether you’re simply looking to go up a shade or two, or more. Please refer to the Fitzpatrick Skincare Chart below to determine where you stand.
To help you avoid potential confusion, you can use the computation below. Please note: this is a general guide based on body weight.
One should take 20-40mg per Kilogram of Body weight per day, divided into 2-3 divided doses.
For example, a 50kg Female x 30mg (average of 20-40mg) would take 1500mg to induce a skin whitening result. Taking a dosage above or below that amount is up to the individual, however, on the basis of body weight this is sufficient to induce skin whitening effects.
Please note, other factors such as frequency of alcohol consumption, smoking, and one’s overall health and wellbeing all play a vital role in the body and it’s complete absorption of the Glutathione. This is also why some may see a faster result than others.
Does the dosage change based on how I supplement with Glutathione?
Whether you choose to use Glutathione through an oral supplement, via Liposomal or through an Intravenous Injection, the amount your body will need to induce either a skin whitening result or just the health benefits does not change.
The difference between the different methods of supplementation is applicability, absorption, and practicality.
The Different Ways to Supplement with Glutathione
Liposomal Glutathione and Oral Glutathione Supplements are easily absorbed and the most practical, and
Intravenous Glutathione injections are effective as they provide the body with instant absorption, however, additional supplementation through the use of supplements is required post injection to ensure the continued uptake of Glutathione in the body. This can be expensive and time consuming for the average person.
